First and foremost, we acknowledge that you might be going through many things before driving or flying of to the south of France for this wedding and our time together is not about pretenting that's not the case so please come as you are and we hope you find this time to bring you what it needs to go back home with exactly what you needed.
Colorful Clothes
On the event schedule, we describe the attire theme for each event to help provide some guidance on what to wear, so go check it out! The general theme is funky and colorful. It ranges from summertime casual to flair and funk to dressed up in color.
It will be the end of August and that means the hottest summer days are hopefully gone, but it's still quite warm and humid. This means warm days and cooler evenings with a possibility of rain. Check the weather for the town of Thiviers, France before you leave. Here's some info on the climate this time of year.
All that said, we really value giving clothes a second (or third) life, so no need to go buy new clothes for this event. Better to drag something out of the depths of your closet, borrow from a same-sized friend, or find something second-hand where possible! Some of our favorite clothes thrifting stores are Goodwill, Thredup, and Poshmark in the US, Vinted in Europe, and Toi Market in Kenya. If you aren't finding something in theme, just wear an outfit you like ☺️
A book about love
As part of connecting and learning from others we will be hosting a free library during the course of the wedding during which we want to share all the favourite books with wisdom about love that you have read so we want to request to:
1. Pick a book that you have read ( fiction or non fiction) about love that you want to share
2. Buy it ( second hand if you can!)
3. Write a sentence or two in the front with a message on why this book is/was important for you
3. Bring it to the wedding!
Kids
If you have kids, they are very welcome! We want to create a space that is kid friendly. We are planning to provide some childcare for children above 3 years old that will help you have some fun too. There will be dozens of other experienced or aspiring parents around that will be eager to help you look after your littlest ones. Please reach out to us if you are bringing children and have any questions about the venue, childcare, or anything else! If you don't have kids, please understand that being a parent at gatherings like this is especially challenging, so bring your patience and your willingness to lend a hand looking after little ones as you're able.
